Two Stunning Architectural Listings in Sullivan County
(5/2) Plus: Upcoming Arts Events + May's Getaway Deals
Hello all, and happy Friday!
Somehow, suddenly, it’s May – and it’s all happening. Everything is budding or blooming, farms and farmers’ markets are starting to reopen, summer events are being announced, travel is picking up, and real estate listings are rolling back in. Summer is on the way.
Along with the big improvement in weather, a bright spot this week was the announcement of some favorite summer events: namely the Woodsist Festival and Upstate Art Weekend. (For more immediate gratification, check out May’s flower festivals.)
If you're on a house hunt, both of the incredible listings below are hosting open houses on Saturday – and conveniently just 30 minutes from each other. (Heads up: you’ll need to RSVP!) For both listings, we've highlighted some favorite places to eat, shop, and hike nearby to make your day trip (or weekend) complete.
Enjoy the weekend, and see you out there!

On Our Events Radar: Woodsist Festival, Upstate Art Weekend, and Three Tulip Festivals
Tickets go on sale for Woodsist Festival today! According to Spotify, my most played artist of 2024 was Dougie Poole, and according to memory, Animal Collective was my most played artist of 2009 – so what a joy to see Panda Bear on the bill, too. (IYKYK, but for those who don’t, Panda Bear was a member of Animal Collective.) This event takes place at Arrowood Farms September 20 and 21. Expect a mellow crowd, beautiful setting and all-around great time. It *will* sell out, so grab tickets before they’re gone!
Mark your calendars: Upstate Art Weekend announced their 2025 dates this week, Thursday July 17 through Monday July 21. This immersive 5-day event explores local arts organizations, galleries, museums, residencies and creative projects, mixed with temporary exhibitions and events staged especially for UAW – all over the Catskills and Hudson Valley. More information here.
Last but not least, and more immediately – we scoped some tulip festivals happening this weekend and beyond. If you can’t imagine a better way to spend a day than meandering through fields of tulips, check out our three flower festival picks here.
