Howdy, and happy Wednesday!
We’ve officially entered real estate high season, which has made my daily Zillow scrolls really fun. New listings are coming on every day, from tiny cottages in the Northern Catskills to grand estates in the rolling hills of Dutchess County — and I love digging through them.
While my taste in homes typically stays the same — historic cottages, time-capsule midcenturies, quirky architecture — high season means more inventory, more variety, and more to get excited about.
If you’re just getting into the swing of high-season searching, here’s a pro tip: some towns consistently punch above their weight when it comes to “good” listings. My favorite places to browse on Zillow are Kerhonkson, Accord, and Western Saugerties in Ulster County – Hillsdale and Copake in Columbia County – and Callicoon, Narrowsburg, and other towns in Sullivan County, especially along the Delaware River. These areas tend to turn up historic homes, unusual properties, and the occasional hidden gem that somehow hasn’t been scooped up yet.
