Down the Zillow Rabbit Hole: Real Estate Pricing in 2022
A look at 2022 in the Catskills & Hudson Valley markets: the priciest sales in each county, plus median home prices in each... according to Zillow.
The real estate market is so complex, and with its ever-changing landscape, it can be hard to keep up.
Every month, we’re sharing intel on new topics within the industry – from pricing, design and renovation – to social issues like the impact of real estate on the environment and gentrification.
This month, we’re looking back at 2022 – more specifically, at pricing in 2022.
Happy New Year, subscribers!
I don’t know about you, but I’m totally addicted to Zillow. I love new listings. And what I love even more is new listings that are completely and utterly, even grotesquely, out of my price range. I regularly scan for both in every county of the mid-Hudson Valley and the Catskills.
With that in mind, for fun, I thought I’d share some recent digging I did on the most expensive home sales of 2022 in both those regions: flaws and all, including not one but two, $10m+ discrepancies. And for something more useful, the medians from each of those mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills counties.
The market is at a strange crossroads, and who knows what 2023 will bring – but these numbers seem like a good place to begin. Happy home hunting to anyone who’s looking, and keep an eye on Escape Brooklyn Real Estate, plus our Instagram, for three new listings coming to market soon.
