To our fellow travelers, real estate professionals, and Upstate hosts of all kinds: happy high season! There’s so much going on up here it’s hard to keep track, but we wanted to share this very special thing that happened that’s very near and dear to our hearts.
A few weeks ago, the brokerage formerly known as Catskill Mountain Houses announced an expansion to the Hudson Valley – and with it, a rebrand. After years of being based in Catskills’ town of Livingston Manor, an office in the Hudson Valley’s city of Kingston meant a new name was in order. Enter: Anatole House.

On the new name, owner and broker Robin Jones says she gravitated toward this name from the beginning of the rebrand process. When she was growing up, Anatole House was the name of her grandparents’ English seaside home. “It was the first time I learned that a house could have a name and embody a feeling. It hosted many sophisticated dinner parties and chaotic family gatherings, which I believe is an aspiration in many of our circles today.” (Truth!)
The new office, housed in historic uptown Kingston, is the ideal basecamp for both Hudson Valley agents and clients. It’s just steps from shopping, cafés and of course, the architectural and historic gems that make Kingston so special. Anatole House’s Kingston office is the second location for the brokerage, with the first being located in Livingston Manor, inside the Catskill Park.

Last week, the Anatole House team gathered with family and friends to celebrate and we were thrilled to be included. Other familiar faces included Homestedt, Edifice Upstate and Sunshine Colony while guests rubbed shoulders with local designers, restaurateurs and shop owners. Bubbles flowed from Ester Wine, and the hangs lasted into the night at the midtown cafe and tabanco, Mirador – recently named one of Esquire’s “Best Bars in America.”
